Homeowner Insurance Companys??

Question

I need to know of some cheap companies that offer Homeowners insurance in New Port Richey, Fl. I was told to check with "Baulk Knight", and "Mitchell" however I can't find them in the phone book or online....... I'm going crazy!!! We have bad credit, but have to have insurance because we got a chance to purchase a home and have to have the ins. by closing which is in just like 2wks...........PLEASE HELP!!!!!

OK, you're being referred to AGENCIES.  Florida is a homeowners insurance nightmare - not many standard companies are in the state, and MOST aren't writing new business.  If you have bad credit, that just makes it that much more difficult.

Go find a local, independent agent.  If you spend an afternoon there, you should have a quote - even if it's with Citizens, the state company of last resort.

You could ALSO try Foremost, they specialize in bad credit policies.  www.foremost.com, but I don't know if they're currently writing in FL.

Just remember, if you pay for a cheap company, it may not be in business if you go to file a claim
