I've never been to Ireland. Will be visiting in the summer.

What are the homes in Ireland like? Meaning, are the homes kept very neat, tidy and organized.

How do the people live?

  1. We live just like the rest of the world, Some people have clean houses and some don't but its like that everywhere.

  2. Oh my God!!

If you are serious, you are in for some shock!!!

You really should write in advance to where you are going to be staying as they may organise someone local to be able to bring you around on a horse and trap and show you the wonderful scenery at a fee, otherwise the feet will be walked off you and you won't enjoy your holiday.

As previous answers have said very few have much facilities ie electricity or running water, however the well's are not usually too far away and there is always a bucket or something out the back to go to the toilet, don't worry though as the head of the household will dispose of this for you.

You might also think to bring a spare sheet with you as your one won't have tic's in it.

It can be fun though as Guinness and Poitin are usually plentiful.

    Best of Luck.

How do we live?Rather well, read on.

Ireland is one of the richest, most developed and peaceful countries on earth, having the fifth highest Gross Domestic Product per capita, second highest Gross Domestic Product (Purchasing Power Parity) per capita and having the fifth highest Human Development Index rank. The state also has high rankings for its education system, political freedom and civil rights, press freedom and economic freedom; it was also ranked fourth from the bottom on the Failed States Index, being one of the few "sustainable" states in the world.

  8. Nah they live with pigs in the parlour still.  Chickens run around the kitchens as in the olden days.  Beds made of straw, toilets outside in huts.  God it's awful
