Question:

Homeschool Economics?

Does anyone now of a good Economics curriculum for homeschoolers? We're looking for one that doesn't have a religious or conservative viewpoint, and if at all possible, something that includes lots of project-based or somewhat hands-on activities, or something we can adapt to add our own.

Thanks!

  1. Are you looking for one prevalent to today's time, or would you use one that was published in the 90's?

The one I used was from that time and it had great exercise and was an interesting text. It was titled "Introduction to Economics"  and it was published by CTES/EMC.  I still have my books. I used them for the 9th grade.

It's adaptable. There was originally a workbook with it, but we never bought that item, we found our own to do.

  3. Here is a series of video that may be something to re-inforce and/or give you ideas of things to study.  You can use your creativity for the hands-on activities.

The series  was done a few years ago so don't let the guy's big glasses distract from the good information.    It has lot's of history of economics in the USA .

  4. Penny Candy by Richard Mayberry is the best.
