Homeschool and work permits?

...how do i get one if im homeschooled...how does that work?

  1. Um, you have to go up to the high school or middle school, depending on what grade you're in. As long as you're 14 you can usually get one, but you have to have good grades (C+). Just go up to the front desk and tell them that you're home schooled and you need to get a work permit. The way it works is they give you this form to fill out. Your parents have to sign it, along with who you're going to be working for, and later someone at the school. Hope this helps.


  2. I work for the public school.  I homeschool my son.

    Our school has nothing to do with work permits in our state.

    They are obtained through the state department of labor.

    The answers concerning going to public school sound funny to me because our state does not require the school to work as an agent for the dept. of labor, but I've heard the question often enough on Y!A  that it apparently is a reality in some states....along with the free homeschool curriculum governed by the public school.  

    I'm glad I live where I live.
