Question:

Homeschool forums/chat?

I am going to start homeschooling my daughter and would like to find some others who are doing so.

The only sites I have found that have a forum of any sort you have to pay a yearly membership.

If you know of any, please list them for me?

Thank you so much.

(I am in Wisconsin if that matters)

  1. This one is great.  A lot of very knowledgeable and friendly people.

  2. Check out http://groups.yahoo.com and type in "Wisconsin Homeschooling" and you will find user groups that are in your state.  You can also type in your city instead of your state.

Try http://www.hslda.org .  Click on your state in the drop down menu to the right, and the page that you go to should have a link for associations and organizations for your state.  Some might have membership fees, but they will also have a wealth of information and resources for you (as well as forums).

There are homeschooling message boards at iVillage.com (click on the pregnancy and parenting tab), ParentCenter.com and you can also try MSN groups.

    I hope this helps!

  3. Luckily, the state you are in doesn't matter when it comes to homeschooling.

Here are some tips for joining homeschool forums, as well as links to some of my favorite forums (only one of them requires a fee):

    http://www.successful-homeschooling.com/...

These sites also have great homeschool message boards:

    http://www.babycenter.com

    http://www.ivillage.com

Good luck and welcome to the world of homeschooling!

  4. Do a search on Yahoo!Groups - there are a bunch of free homeschool discussion groups.

The second & third links below has Wisconsin specific groups.

  5. this one looks like a pretty good trailer of one i put together..
