Question:

Homeschool help....7th grade?

Hi. My son just decided after 2 months of public school that he hates it. We are back home again doing school but I am in need of helpful sites. He is in 7th grade and we need sites for all subjects. My husband reformatted my computer and I lost all the sites I had saved.

I don't need sites with rules and regulations as we have been homeschooling for 3 years.

Also, if you are going to post a negative remark you are wasting your time. I don't care about why you think my child should be in public school.

Thanks in advance

  1. There are all sorts of resources here for SCHOOL IN A BOX

    Abecka, Penn Foster, etc.

All you got to do is GOOGLE homeschooling.

If you can't do that, how can you teach your kids!

No offense intentended, but reality can be a witch!

  2. Visite this site for HomeSchooling

    http://www.OnlineStudyInfo.com

  3. Ikwym about both...going back to homeschooling and losing bookmarks... been there to both and done that...

Eduplace.com and edhelper.com might have some help?

Math-drills.com, theteachersguide.com .... I hope this helps a bit.   Also, sitesforteachers.com is one that I've used from time to time to get links to things.

Maybe get "The Everything Homeschooling Book" by Sherri Linsenbach from the library?  There are lists of websites in there for all subjects and areas for homeschooling.  I used to have one and loaned it out and you know how that goes...

I want to commend you on not forcing your son to finish ps.  I had a friend that was in the same situation and her husband said that their son had to finish the year in ps before they could homeschool again... as you can guess, it wasn't pretty.

  4. I keep an online directory of homeschool resources.

I don't list many of the biggies that you can get easily with a search - I try to include the hard to find and unique sites.

Take a look around, let me know what you think.  If you find some other good sites that are helpful but not the "usual 6 sites" feel free to add them to the directory.

  5. Even though he reformated the computer maybe u can go back and do a restore and get the info ! If not hook into the library computer of your town and get the info u need

  6. I guess you just have to start over, next time try to save it to a flash drive or something. :-)

  7. Well i think that you should visit Study Island the site helps middle school students  with math, language arts, science, and social studies. The link is www.studyisland.com

Also there are other websites you can visit but I don't know them on the top of my head but you can visit www.google.com and go onto school support and there will be websites

    GOOD LUCK

  8. After surviving both a data drive crash and a C-drive crash, I can relate!

Many people are starting to do social bookmarks. Instead of your favorites residing privately on your own fav list, you post them in an open environment where others can see your bookmarks too. It sure takes the worry out of hard drive crashes and reformats. The biggest social bookmark website is http://del.icio.us

If you do a homeschool search at the site you can find many good links. Here is the web addy for the homeschool search:
