  1. do you mean how much will it cost . well i used to home teach my eldest son for a long time . at first we just used books , but found out it was costing far too much , so we went on the net and got nearly everything from that for nothing . there are quite a few sites for home teaching too , i found them really helpful .

  2. We homeschooled prior to the internet being what it is today.

Due to the fact that we are a single income family we had to be careful with our budget.

We did buy books for math and english but we mostly used our wonderful library for the rest.

We were involved in our local homeschool group which was a yearly fee and our state requires testing of some kind once a year and that also cost money out of pocket.

Do your research. There is a lot out there that wasn't available 15 years ago.

Because of our limited budget we used curricula from different companies because it was less expensive that way.

We did a lot of unit studies which were a lot of fun

Be aware of what the state laws are where you live, what you have to do to be qualified to teach your children, and find out what resources your school district offers to homeschooling families.

  3. It can be free, or nearly so, or cost thousands of dollars.  We HS one child and our budget is $3000/year.  Others do it for $300.

It all depends on what you use - curriculum or none, what supplemental activities you use, what online resources you use (paid or free), etc.  Also, the ages and grade levels matter, too.

If you give us more details, we can answer your question better.

  4. You can spend how ever much you want.  It's all up to you that's why it's such a wonderful lifestyle and ever rewarding to families.

    :D

  5. That depends..

I've been in two different types..

In FL they offer Florida Virtual School, I don't know about other states..

    Its completely free on there.

I also went to a private home school, Families of Faith.

It's a Christian home school, even though I don't believe in religion, it was actually a good school, and quite easy.

  6. It only costs for the books and suppllies you need. Of course its nice to take some classes or be involved with activities. Otherwise you become a zombie at home! Trust me I know from experience. But the convienence of sleeping in and doing all your work in like 5 hours is pretty awesome.
