  1. Don't be someone your not. i got to public and i don't have fancy clothes and i don't wear makeup a whole lot. Make friends that are kinda like you. i have friends who are really religous and i still hang out with then even if i am not like that. i have friends that are different and i am not like them. Do n't be someone that you aren't cause that isn't cool.

    BE YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. With the attitude you have right now you are not going to do well. You need to calm down because people will be able to tell if you are unsure of yourself.

    1. Hair. Most girls dry and straighten their hair every morning before school and just leave it down. It doesn't have to be more complicated then that.

    2. Skin care. Good skin is key. If you have serious skin issues you can go to a dermatologist, but if you're just a typical teenager with a bit of acne then the best way to go would be to buy daily cleansing products. I like Proactiv, but there are many other good brands like AcneFree, Neutrogena, and Clean & Clear (most of these you can find at your local grocery store or Walmart).

    3. Make up. It is the best place to invest your money because if you have bad make up it shows. Try to keep it looking pretty and natural. Don't over do it. The best thing to do would be to go to Sephora and have them show you how to do your make up and what best works for you (I'm not sure if this costs anything or not). If you don't have a Sephora near you then most department stores (like Macy's) do the same thing (for free).

    4. Clothes. Not much to tell you since everyone pretty much has their own personal style, but I will list stores that are popular among various types of teenager and to assist you in finding your own personal style.

    Hollister Co. (my favorite)

    Abercrombie & Fitch

    American Eagle

    Pacific Sun Wear (PacSun)

    Wet Seal

    Body Central

    Hot Topic

    Old Navy

    Kohl's

    Forever 21

    Charlotte Russe

The Junior Section of Department Stores

    5. Shoes. Just make sure they don't look stupid with your outfits. People wear anything basically. Tennis shoes, flats, flip flops, boots, and heels are all good.

    6. Friends & Attitude. Most people will already have an established group of friends so it might take a couple months before you really start to have a tight group of friends. The best thing to do would be to smile a lot and talk to a lot of different people. Have confidence in yourself, and if you don't fake it as best you can. Don't let people push you into anything. It won't get you real friends. It will just make you a joke.

The best piece of advice I can give you is to join sports and/or after school activities. This is the absolute BEST way to make strong friendships. It doesn't matter what type of activities you do. Just try to do stuff you're interested in.

Calm down a bit and I'm sure you'll do fine.

    :)

  3. I agree with the be yourself statement. 200 a month plus your parents buying your clothes is an extremely generous amount, so I'm guessing you're not a country girl, living out in the middle of a cornfield somewhere.

You probably already have a good handle on what is in, but since I have a 10th grader who is extremely socialized, here's what they are wearing right now:

    skinny jeans

skinny t-s layered (statement t's: favorite bands, whatever)

    Longsleeve t's

    sweaters

    ballet flats, all kinds

    ugh type boots

    faux fur lined hoodies

    mini skits with leggings

and to carry books any type of large purse, or tote, backpacks are really not that cool

Go to the mall and hang out in stores like Forever 21, AE, Pacsun, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, and see what the shoppers are wearing.

Hair, anything goes, mainly long where we live, makeup, fresh, well done, not too heavy.

Get to know someone in each of your classes, if someone looks like someone you would not hang out with, then don't.

Be nice, smile, you'll be fine.

  4. Hang out at the mall and be aware of what teenagers are wearing.  Decide what is the best look for you.  Watch where they are shopping, too.  And, the makeup - go easy .  You can always do more later.  It's hard to backtrack.

  5. BE YOURSELF!

  6. WOW!!! I've been homeschooled my whole life and I went into 9th grade this year. But the schoool I go to every one has to wear uniforms. But the bigest tip I can give you is...

    1. Get to know your teachers!!! REPECT THEM

    2. Don't do bad stuff just to fit in!!

    3. public school = R rated movie no kidding! ART CLASS IS THE WORST!!!

    4. SIT UP FRONT in ALL your classes!!!!!!

    5. if you have closed lunches pack a lunch so you get first dibs on cafeteria tables!!!!

    6. IGNORE PEOPLE making fun of you and don't responed to "HAY YOU"!! make people LEARN YOUR NAME...

    7. GET INVOLVED IN EXTRA CURRICULARS, GREAT PLACE TO MAKE FRIENDS!!

    8. Don't go waving you 100 dollar alounce in every bodys face!

    9. MOST girls @ my school shop @ AEROPOSTILE HOLISTER AND AMERICAN EAGLE!!!

any more specifics PLEASE EMAIL ME @ givemecenterstage@yahoo.com

  7. - Make- up: light, not too noticable. mascara, eyeline (sometimes worn, not always, but always make sure to rub to get the smokey look, no one likes the racoon look), foundation.  sometimes blush, but keep it light.

    - Hair: usually straightened, sometimes in a pony-tail or messy bun.  crunch up and use gell to create a cute wavy affect (pretty popular)

    - clothes: depends on your style.  people like people who dress how they want, not people who dress like every other person.  jeans and a t-shirt should be fine.  baby doll tops are "in".  hollister is the most "in" store.  aeropostale is good too.  macy's, forever21, charlotte rue,... are also good.  ugg boots are "in" too.

-aditude- be yourself!  it is easy to see when someone is pretending to be someone they are not, and it is really anoying.  you want friends who are like you and who are interested in what you are interested in, so join clubs, sports, events, ... that you like and you will meet people there.

sometimes you will have to be the one to speak up.  being a shy person, i know it is hard, but you will regret it if you don't make any friends the first few months and then get left out the rest of your life.  the first few months are crucial, but don't freak out.  if you don't make good friends rite away, remember- it will take awhile.  just make sure you are talking to people

    hope this helps!

ps, you will see what is "in" when you get there, so save some money to go shopping after you get an idea of what people at your school like.  don't be too worried.  you want friends who like you for you, not for your clothes.  i know, it sounds cliche, but it's totally true.

  8. Depends on what you want to be

The most generic is designer jeans and pull over tops (the Gap kind of stuff), Light make-up.

Unless you're used to making a statement, in which case better be ready to back it up

After that it's up to the clique you decide to go with.
