  1. Most areas have homeschool leagues.   We are a two income family and do not have time for daytime practices so we use community sports and YMCA.

  2. You can participate in team sports in any state.  There are many avenues for team sports outside of the public school system.  You can play in the rec leagues, at the Y, through hs sports leagues.  If you are really good you can play on a select or travel team:

Here is a description of several different options as well as  links to where you can find teams in you area:

I know some homeschoolers play on public school teams - that was the route taken by college football player Tim Tebow in Alabama, as well as pro football player Jason Taylor (in Florida, I believe.)

According to the following link, that is not allowed in Kentucky:

However, you have many other options to participate in team sports.  Have fun!

  3. Any state you can but if you want too

  4. it depends on your state laws.  in our state they have to let homeschool or charter students participate, as we still pay school taxes to the district.

check with your school.  then check with other hsing parents to see, sometimes the school will tell you no you cant, when by law they have to let you play.

  5. Some homeschoolers have their own sports organizations.  Where I live the homeschoolers have their own basketball and volleyball team.  They compete against private schools all over the area.

  6. I assume that you only mean school-sponsored team sports.  If so, the answer is no.  However, if you truly love the sport, there are lots of other great ways to participate in the game!  Check the private schools near you.  Many, particularly the smaller ones, are homeschool-friendly and welcome homeschoolers on their teams.  Community sports leagues may have the sport you are seeking, as may the YMCA or other similar groups.  Many large homeschool support groups also have teams to join.  Ask around your area.  If you are not sure of the support available to homeschoolers, begin with your city librarian.  Homeschoolers are quite friendly with their local librarians so if anyone will be able to direct you toward the help you need, the librarian should! ;)

  7. Any state you can, look online, or ask any of your freinds about it. Also check out the YMCA, and other orginizations in your community.
