  1. My son signed up through the Collegeboard   online and just took the SAT-he's 16. You should have no problems!!

  2. What now?  Anything!  If you don't know what you want to do I would suggest taking gen. ed. classes at a community college.  Classes like English 101, Math 110, American History, and Biology w/lab.  That way, no matter what  degree you might plan to pursue, you will be able to jump right into your core classes and not have to worry about all the freshman classes.

Also, 16 is definitely not too old to take your ACT/SAT!  I didn't decide to go to college until my senior year so I took my ACT when I was 18.  I only had a one week difference between testing and when my applications had to be in so it was a huge rush.  Get a study book, take some time going over practice tests, and plan on taking the test at least two times.  Most peoples score improves the more times they take it.

  3. Of course you're old enough. I took the SAT for the first time when I was only twelve and the second time soon after turning seventeen. Go to collegeboard.com to get all the information for the SAT. Everyone, homeschoolers, public, private, and even people who aren't in school can take the SAT or ACT. You don't take it at your school or anything. You take it at a test center which will be assigned to you once you register for the test. Go to collegeboard.com to get all the information you need for registration, test dates, etc. Good luck

  4. Certainly a 16 yr. old can take the SAT or ACT.   I've known a number of children who took the SAT while in 7th grade as part of applying for some program for gifted children.

You might want to start by going to the local library and getting a book on the SAT (or ACT--or both).  They'll have practice questions, information about the test, and more.  I'd highly recommend taking a practice version first so that you are familiar with the question types before taking the real test and you'll see if there's anything that you need to brush up on first.

Or do a search for the College Board's website.  They'll have information on signing up for the test.  It is offered at various high schools and colleges on particular dates, but in some areas there are tutoring centers that you can take a computer version of the test at on any day that's mutually convenient.

And being homeschooled certainly doesn't keep you from taking the SAT or ACT.

  5. Yes, you are eligible to do this.  SATs and ACTs aren't given by the schools, just *at* schools most of the time (as they have classrooms ready to use).  If you go to the College Board website, you should see the dates and places the tests will be given in your area.

What now...anything you want!  College, job, business, travel...whatever floats your boat!

Congrats on the early graduation, by the way :)
