Question:

Homeschooled for senior year?

I'm a junior right now and I really really hate school. I want to be homeschooled for my senior year, the only classes I really need are computer lit, and English 4. My only problem is, what would colleges think of me doing that? I want to get into UC's right after I graduate, would that conflict in any way?

  1. No. Colleges accept home schoolers just as much as public schooled kids.

  2. I really don't think colleges should have a problem with you being homeschooled your senior year. As long as you have all your credits and everything counted for it should not be a problem. I was homeschooled seventh grade on and had no problem getting into college. There are many ways to do homeschooled transcripts that you can send in if needed at any of the colleges you apply at.

  3. Depending on your school's policies, you might be able to take computer lit and your English class at your local community/junior college or university and get dual credit (high school and college).  I combined my senior year of high school (homeschooled since 7th grade) and freshman year of college this way.

I had my choice of colleges (private and state), and had no trouble getting scholarships and fellowships to help pay for my education. I also had no trouble getting into and finishing graduate school. Don't let anyone tell you colleges don't like homeschoolers. :)

  4. It shouldn't be a conflict .

  5. I am currently being homeschooled for my senior year and I had no trouble getting into college. As long as you have proof of the credits you took and good grades you have as good of a chance as anybody.

  6. Yeah.

When the going gets tough, quit.

That'll look good on a college application.

  7. there should not be a conflict as long as you have a transcript that shows all of your credits

  8. It could actually help you getting into college.  Homeschooling, even for 1 year, will make you stand out.

Sounds like a terrific idea to me.

Find a local homeschooling support group and you should be well on your way to a wonderful senior year.

    Good luck :D
