  1. I homeschool our son, & both my husband & I are his teacher.

    We dont do video school.

We pick out his work, by buying it off of the web, at different auction sites. Like ebay, ioffer, com, craigslist.com, or thislittlepiggystayedhome.com

You can also if you look hard enough find stuff at the thrift stores too.

my son is going on his 3rd year homeschooling, he loves it, & is more happier then at a public, or private school.

The biggest reason we homeschool is because hes servely dyslexic, the schools here along with the school board has told us 3 times, "Dyslexia dosnt exsits".I know thats bull.

And the 2nd reason is because he's on a feeding pump every 3 hours too, & the school told me theyd work with it, if I would stay at the school & work it for them.

Well, at the time i had a job, so I couldnt, then when we were having more problems at the schools, we decided I would be a stay @ home mom, & wed homeschool him.

Now, daddy is unempolyed & hurt, so its up to both of us now.

  2. I'm homeschooled. I don't do any sort of video school yet. We do more of a mix of eclectic homeschooling and unschooling. I'll be using Math U See this year for Pre Calculus, but other than that, no videos. I do have teachers. I have a teacher for guitar and a teacher for bass guitar. They're great, really neat guys. I've got a fencing coach who is kind of a teacher. I've got a teacher at the art studio I go for silversmithing and other classes at. I've got an Orientation and Mobility teacher who helps me practice cane techniques and learn to get around confidently and independently <I'm blind>. I've got a tutor who is actually a family friend who happens to work at a nearby university, and he helps me with French, and I'll have a numver of professors this fall when I start duel enrollment at that university. But you wouldn't know any of them.

  3. I was homeschooled K-12.

My family has never used videos/DVDs for school.

  4. My son is homeschooled, but not with a video school.  His father and I are his primary instructors, and he has other instructors as well.

Please tell me you're kidding about their names...or at least the spelling of them.

  5. No one really knows how many homeschools exist.  Many parents make the decision that their educational choices are truly not the government's business, and so they do not file any papers with the government, nor enroll their children in any form of homeschooling connected with public schools.

  6. My siblings and I are home-educated.

No, we don't do video school; here, things such as that are not considered as home-education (rather they're distance education).

Life is my teacher. We're unschoolers (aka Natural Learners) so we don't bother with teachers as such; my parents act as mentors and faciltators but other than that we're auto-didactic, i.e. we teach ourselves.

And no-one knows how many kids are home-educated: our goverment has started 'bribing' home-educators to register in a bid to find out but they still reckon that fewer than 10% of home-ed families are bothering to register.

  7. My son is homeschooled.

We create his curriculum and use some video from online and from the library.  Most of the video we use are lectures from the colleges that offer free coursework and science and history video that explain or dramatize certain things.

There are way too many 'teachers' to list because every one we contact is a potential teacher.   We learn from most of the people we know.  (Some just serve as a bad example. smile)

  8. My children are homeschooled.

    They are not videoschooled.

I (their mother) am their primary teacher.
