I am in 10th grade and want to use the videotext algebra course. Has anyone else used it or one of their other courses? How have you found them compared to other popular math curriculum? All feedback would be deeply appreciated :) I currently use Saxon but I find it boring and difficult to remember with way to much repeating in every lesson.

  1. My daughter used it last year as part of a co-op, meaning I was not the hands on person for it. She loved it, and the person that ran the class liked the teachability of it. She found it easy to understand and I found the detailed solutions manuals easy to use to track down any errors, even though I was not the one keeping up with the class.

She has a solid foundation in algebra now.

    hope this helps you some.

  2. I'm in 10th grade and I used video text, it's a pretty good curriculum, I went through it really fast it helps you understand the concept.  However the downside is that, you might need to find extra problems on the Internet or something because there isn't enough in the workbook. Besides that, I think you would like it a lot.

  3. I've seen their demo DVD and it looks pretty good.  My DH actually had more input since he's taken over math instruction.

For Algebra I we decided to use Teaching Textbooks.  For a comparison, you might look at their site if you haven't already.
