Do you have the exact wording from Martin Luther's statement concerning the school system and what it would become if it didn't heed God's Word???

  2. David B, get off it.  He's looking for a quote, not "Bible thumping".  Sorry you've never been in that position...

    Here are some Martin Luther quotes about school:

    "When schools flourish, all flourishes. "  (Gosh, all that Bible thumping is making me tired.  Gotta rest...)

    Here's the Massachusetts Constitution of 1780..."the happiness of a people, and the good order and preservation of civil government, essentially depend upon piety, religion, and morality."

    And the Northwest Ordinance, enacted by the First Continental Congress and re-enacted by the first Congress: "Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged."

    And Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: "Education which stops with efficiency may prove the greatest menace to society. The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason but with no morals."

    Couldn't find any others by Martin Luther, but hopefully these will help?
