Has this happened to you?

I just saw that someone (BJ) copied and pasted my exact answer to this question:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080331161448AAaonnT&r=w#JJNkG1T2VErCKVA8tbvb

I reported him, but what else should I do? He does not accept email, so I can't write him about it.

  1. Reporting him is all you can do. It's very clearly against Y!A rules. Don't know if he'll get banned for a first offence.

  2. I think you might as well take it as a compliment that he feels he wants to put his name to your answer.  It's better far than a thumbs down, isn't it?

  3. You just report them when they do that. I've seen it happen in here before as well as other areas. They do it for points.

  4. I don't know why someone would do that.  I reported him also.

  5. Yes, he is a repeat offender.  Is there somewhere on here where you can report an infringement on intellectual property?  That is what it is.  I found it but lost the spot.

  6. I was so tempted to copy and paste your question as a new one - you know, as an April fools joke...

But, I decided that enough people would probably not get it and report me and I would get kicked off while the real trouble makers continue to go on with their nonsense...

I did notice the one you mention... I was just quickly scanning through and I thought... wait a minute that looks familiar...

What is worse, there are unscrupulous forum / discussion group owners that "scrape" content from Y!A and post it in their forums as if a user had done so... But wait, it gets better.  They even take your username.  Do a google on your username and you will see some of your posts in forums that you have had nothing to do with (easier to find them with a unique username).

    Oh well... I'm rambling.

  7. Why would you care?  Are you getting paid for this?  Let Yahoo handle it.  You've already done enough by reporting it.

  8. Weird isn't it?
