Homeschooling? Or Online Homeschooling For 9th Grade?

I pretty much need to know everything. I am clueless but we are moving out to the country and it's what my daughter wants. Are there any good sites for online homeschooling? And is it the same as normal homeschool? I'm very confused.

  1. Oh man, i'm a 9th grade homeschooled student and i am LOVING it! there are absolutely no flaws to it, you can do the work whenever, don't miss out when your sick, you can sleep in, and i go 3 times a week to socialize/hang out, so all people who think homeshcoolers are hermits are out of their mind

  2. Online homeschooling is a great option if your daughter is able to learn independently and self motivated to complete assignments.

Here's some info on computer based homeschooling:

Here are some online homeschooling options:

    http://www.keystonehighschool.com/

Below is some general info on homeschooling.

  3. Allied National High School.  i'm in 10 grade and i have been doing that and you get your high school daploma insted of that other thing. (i dont knnow what its called) and it has the same educational benefits.

  4. When you go to various homeschool websites, watch for the google ads. I've seen quite a few online homeschool ads. There are alot of homeschool website you can find that have good information. I am in the process of making one myself. Everything is free. I don't sell anything on it. Check out the sources link and visit it. Add it to favorites and check back soon for all the updates.

  5. you may have to see what the law for the place you are moving to first

after that there are a lot of good choices for curriculum, 2 of the easiest are Alpha Omega and I use the computer based curriculum(Switched On Schoolhouse), but they offer a book curriculum too (LIFEPAC)

    then there is A.C.E

they both offer an on-line school but it is not required to buy the curriculum from them

the biggest thing is to make sure you have the right courses with electives for high school. My oldest is in 9th right now and I use the Switched On Schoolhouse, and the Bible is a 1 credit elective in addition we have him in their High school Health and Consumer Math (the economics requirement) these last 2 are both .5 credit courses.

it can get a little confusing at first but it is worth it in the end

  6. Oh my, there are so many choices today.  North Dakota public schools offer classes, Oregon, and many others, all for pay.  There are also charter schools that will provide all the curriculum you need if you agree to a few things like monthly meetings, state mandated testing yearly, and very minor other things.  Just do an internet search on high school homeschooling or go to the charter school website, I think its CANEC.org, and see what schools are "near" you.  Then there is abekaacademy.org or bob jones if you want it to be christian-based education.  Good luck and have fun with your child that you are trying to make into a fine adult.

  7. BYU, distance program. it's the same as an education, except you can get a diploma faster.

    it's costs money though.
