Right now I am finishing my sophomore year as a homeschooler. What can I do to graduate early? Can I just take my GED and SAT/ACT and get into college. Or do I need to finish my last two years? I am taking online classes if that helps. Also with my online classes they give me unofficial transcripts can I use those or can I send those along with transcripts that my parents fill out? Thank you so much in advance!

  1. It is best to graduate with an online charter school if possible. With A GED you will be limited as to what colleges will accept you.

  2. You don't have to have transcripts from other places to graduate, but you keep the records yourself.

Once you have the required amount of credits, you could attend community college for free, if you are not yet 18!

There are many Homeschoolers that enter a University with a bunch of credits from their community college already earned.

GED is for people that haven't finished high school .. ACT is something you will have to take when entering college ..

Check out your local college, take them your transcripts of what you have done and talk to a counselor .. they will help you out.

  3. You will need to check with your state to see what the minimum age for taking the GED is.  I know many home school families who's kids take the GED at the age of 16 so they can graduate early.  If you are taking online classes you may want to check with who you are taking the classes with to see if they have an accelerated program for graduation.

  4. I think the best info you can get is from the schools you are thinking about attending. They probably all have different policies. Good luck!
