  1. Do you have any hobbies? Love of animals? You could volunteer somewhere.

I love horses so someone asked me if I would like to work for them and so thats what I do.

  2. First, think about all the things you are interested and then find activities that revolve around those.

If you love animals, you could volunteer at an animal clinic or pet shelter.  If you love art, you could take art classes or give museum tours.  Think of things you love!

If your city has a parks and rec department, you could look for fun activities and classes there.  Also check out your local libary.  Homeschooling support groups also offer clubs and activities if there is one in your area.

Good luck finding something that works for you!

  3. Find out if there's a homeschooling co-op in your area and join.  It's a great way to meet and interact with students of all ages.  Get a volunteer position (you're too young for most paid work) at a museum, the Red Cross, the zoo, etc.

Look into 4H or scouting.  Go to youth nights at local churches (typically Wed & Sun evenings).  Join a community sports team that's either for fun or competition.  Join the YMCA.

As for hobbies, do something you really like to do.

  4. I'd definetely join homeschool co-op if it's available in your area.   If you can't seem to find one, call some of the churches in your area.  They may have direct contact with one of the groups or allow them to use their facilities for meetings.   I know the one here locally bowls and has lunch their every Wednesday morning .

I'm not sure where you might work other than part-time job babysitting at 13, but you can certainly begin volunteering. Not only will give you something really productive to do, but it will give you something to add to a job application and college paperwork.   Playing on a community softball team or taking a dance class would give you the opportunity to hang out with other girls.

  5. Home school co-ops, YMCA, local church groups.  GOOD LUCK!
