Soo i have school phobia and i was going to participate in another program through school but it was already full. GOing to school on an everyday basis is extremely difficult for me and my body makes itself sick in order to supply excuses so i won't have to participate in school. I don't know if anyone knows about school phobia but theres a little background. So i'm a junior in highschool andi want to be a pediatrician so i really don't want to drop out of highschool and get my ged and go to a community college. So i was wondering if anyone knew anything about homeschooling and somethings i could do that would look good on my resume for college like volunteering for something in pediatrics. I really would appreciate any kind of information or like advice about school phobia homeschooling and pediatric stuff. You could contact me at P1nksunsh1nes on aim or aol. Thanks a bunch!!

  1. While you are doing this homeschooling think about getting help dealing with your anxiety disorder. You will need to actually go to a college if you want to be a doctor. As long as you score high on your tests they will accept you.

  2. Homeschooling can be a good option for people with school phobia.  However, you will not be able to become a pediatrician without going to school (you will have to attend classes in college).  So the more important issue is going to be controlling your school phobia.  I'm sure once that's under control, the rest will fall into place, whether you homeschool or attend a public or private school

  3. You certainly can be homeschooled and still go to a University and then on to Medical School, as long as you get good scores on SAT or ACT tests and keep good records of what you study at home.  The thing I think that will be likely to cause you problems is this school phobia. You WILL have to attend your University classes, you WILL have to attend your Medical School classes, and put in time as an intern from what I understand.  While I believe in homeschooling wholeheartedly, I wonder how someone with school phobia will deal with all of that Higher Education you are headed for.  Well, regardless of that, homeschooling won't hinder you from being accepted into a University.   Good luck.

  4. home schooling is a valid choice for high school, you can get an equal or even better education.   As for going to college the school is not as important as the ACT and SAT test.  SO even if you go to the best high school in the world if you test scores are low you will NOT get into a college or become a pediatrician!

If you home school and your test scores are through the roof you will be accepted at ANY college!

SO, the school is not as important as the test scores!

  5. I completely agree with the first poster, which is why I plan on homeschooling my son.

The quality of your education, is less important than where you receive it.

You need to find out what the guidelines for homeschooling are in your specific area:

  6. Yes yes I have heard of school phobia before. I did a school project on it once, lol. Well going to school everyday is not for everyone. Homeschooling isn't for everyone. It's so good that there are so many options for schooling for people.

I would recommend homeschooling for you, there are so many different types of homeschooling. I do homeschooling through my local school district. I only go to school once a week. It works for me and I like it.

You can be and do anything you want in the world, including becoming a pediatrician. I would recommend this. If you want homeschooling go ahead and get it. Finsih high school and recieve your high school diploma. Then go to community college for two years. Take as many medical and science classes as you can. Then apply for your first choice university medical schools and hope that you get in. Hope I helpd, e-mail me if you need anything, check out my source!
