Homeschooling in Georgia?

OK. I want to be homeschooled & I am a freshman in highschool. My mom cant afford to pay 1000 dollars or 400 dollars for me to be homeschoooled. HELP?? please I really need this. If you have any web sites i can go to or you find somewhere cheaper in Georgia i would be most greatful!

  1. In GA, you don't really have to pay anything to do homeschool if you don't want to.  The parent chooses what is used for teaching. It does not have to be approved by the schools, heck the schools are not even suppose to know what you are using!

    Lots of families use the pre planned curiculum that costs anywhere from $500-$1000 a year.

    I can't afford this, so things I do is go to the library, join a homeschool group to go on field trips and take classes with them, there are SO MANY internet websites to use for school it is just impossible to look thru them all.

    To get started, go to www.worldbook.com and look at their 'scope and sequence' list. This is a list of what children should learn for each grade and each subject. Then you can find what you need to teach each thing from the library, internet, etc.

    The down side to not spending any money to do homeschool is that it takes SO MUCH time just finding waht to use to teach!  I have found shortcuts, though.
