Homeschooling in Indiana?

I lived in Indiana and went to the BOE website and filled out a form to homeschool my daughter, we moved and she decided to go to public school and now they want proof I cleared it thru the board....any suggestions of where I can go to find it? Thanks!

  1. The state of Indiana does not require you to fill out any paperwork or notify them of your choice to homeschool. If you are contacted by the Indiana BOE and they request a form, then you must provide one.

    Another county or state cannot require you to show proof of something you were not required to submit!!


  2. I don't quite understand.  You were in IN, you decided to HS, so you filled out the required paperwork.  Then you moved and your DD decided to go to PS?  Is it the PS that wants proof that you HS'ing was "legal"???

    You should have kept certified copies of the registration you filled out.  The BOE that you registered with should have a copy and/or proof for you.

    When I was in another state that had registration, I carried a copy of it with me at all times.
