  1. Don't worry too much about a 'transcript' from some organization.  You can generate one based on the courses you take.  I am in Kansas.  Kansas State University welcomes homeschoolers.  On their admissions page there is a link for homeschoolers. http://consider.k-state.edu/admissions/h...

They spell out the admissions process.

    Best of luck.

  2. You do not need a diploma for college. A public school issued "accredited" diploma is not worth the paper it's printed on. No diploma is for that matter. Colleges do not, I repeat, do not care about your diploma. They realize that homeschoolers in general do not have accredited diplomas, and yet universities across the nation still actively seek out and recruit homeschoolers. A diploma is not required of a homeschooler, and not having one doesn't in any way decrease your chances of being accepted to even an Ivy League college. Most often, all you'll need to present when you apply is your transcript (which you and your parents will generate based on the classes you take as a homeschooler), your application (including essays, extracurricular activities, awards, and whatever else you can put into it to make yourself stand out), and your SAT or ACT scores. SOME colleges may require extra testing. The University of Florida for example requires that homeschooled applicants take the SAT II subject tests in Math, Foreign Language, Social Studies, and Science. Some others may require a simple placement test in the areas of math and reading, but this isn't horribly common. Most just want your transcript and test scores and a good application.

Universities across the nation do actively recruit homeschoolers. A lot of them prefer homeschoolers due to their independence, motivation, high achievement, social maturity, and actual desire to learn. As long as you take your education as a homeschooler seriously, your University of choice will as well. Good luck!

  3. If you do homeschooling, your parents will issue you a diploma and it will be worth the same (if not more) than a public/private school diploma.

For college admissions, the more important items are a good score on the ACT or SAT, a good portfolio of high school work, and a good transcript (you and your parents make one).  A high school diploma doesn't really matter.

Also, you can take community college classes while in high school and get some college credits under your belt.  Then it will be even easier to attend college/university because you will then be a transfer student with credits already built up.
