Question:

Homeschooling...kind of...

I would like to start something similar to homeschooling, but for a group of 6-10 students whose parents have expressed deep interest in something like this...according to NC homeschool law, however, you can only legally have kids of two families/households per homeschool. What ideas do you guys have so we're able to work this out? I was thinking maybe getting certified as a 'private' school, but I don't know if that is the correct approach or if there were any other alternatives. Thanks!

  1. 1. Get started in you homeschooling of two households like the law prescribes. #2. Get some legal advice on starting a certified private school and study N. Carolina law as to what is necessary to do this. #3. Check out other private schools in your area and see if they meet your standards.  Of course going to public school although legally required and maybe "better" than nothing definitely exposes your children to alot of unwanted habits, underworld influences, and many bad influences many of which could in effect ruin your child or take several life times to "undo" these bad, ungodly assumptions in most teaching today. At least in some church related schools your children may have half a chance for some education, but even there basically raising and protecting a child today is IMPOSSIBLE.  Look at the Texas debacle of a few months ago where "protective" services tore the children from their families with no evidence. Anybody, and especially  65 is in danger, the unborn (abortion) 45 million and counting, k-12 anti-God assumptions in all teaching with not even 1 minute of silence allowed, College ? - So much as mention God and/or self responsibility FLUNK, everybody else is being eaten away by materialism, pornography, and lying as a way of life. 2. I am going by the information you provided, as I am not familiar with NC laws.  This is only correct if the information I interpreted you to give is correct.

You could have two different groups, say your children and the children from another family in group 1 and then in group 2, an assistant with her children and the children from another family.  You could then get together as often as you wished for lessons and activities, but they would legally be two separate groups (and have documentation showing such).

There is a lot to do in order to be certified as a private school, from business license to insurance, to safety and fire inspections, to having formal objectives, curriculum plans, etc.  The first route would definitely be the less stressful and restrictive of the two.

EDITED TO ADD: A church/Christian school would still be a private school, and have to abide by the laws of said private schools.
