Can anyone give any information on a good curric.

I am looking for something that is self paced because I do work part time. Could you please let me know how expensive it is to homeschool. I do need something structured so that he could stay on schedule.

  1. I highly reccommend going to K12.com, the curriculum is self-paced and it's completely free with a loaner computer and printer. It's a Virtual Academy and all the material and supplies are sent free. It's free because it's run by the state and you are considered a "public school student" there are teacher meetings and he will have to test with the state. This would be perfect for you since you work. I promise you will like this site. www.K12.com Good Luck.

  2. Options depend on where you live but yes k12 is the best in my humble opinion. Many online charter schools are popping up all over. Many of them are now using k12 products. k12 schools are good for many reasons. Each student is given a placement test and then given individualized curriculum based on his or her individual needs. With the help of online charter schools today, homeschooling can be much easier than it used to be. They provide you with everything you need, a computer, a printer, books, supplies, and teachers that you can both email and call for help and assistance. This is free and there are no charges. Online schools are definitely becoming a way of the future for the children in generations to come.

Going to an online school is no different than going to a traditional public school or a private school. They graduate with a real diploma the same as any school. My son graduated from an online charter school and now attends a private university (University Of Dayton) with scholarships. They will also help you with making sure that all state required tests are done yearly and proficiencies are completed for graduation.

  3. My children aren't in High School, but I've read Keystone is good, it's about $1000/year.  http://www.keystonehighschool.com/

LA requires has moderate regulation, so you just have to send test scores and notify them of your decision to homeschool.

  4. So far the best, afforadable homeschool is Christian Academy of America, its in Texas. For highschool it costs $400 for a full year, other homeschools are like $600- ?

With this homeschool you can graduate early, and it only takes 4 hours a day!!! its really neat.

  5. If you live in florida, he can do Florida Virtual School, which is what it sounds....online schooling!  It is basically homeschooling but he will have teachers and classmates. For FREE if you live in FL. This is my 4th year coming up, I will be a junior...its amazing.  If you don't live in FL, there is a cost but it is seriously the most structured curriculum & easiest to keep track of since it has to be up to the entire state of FL standards.
