  1. What company/types of books are you choosing from, and what type of information do you need?

  2. When you are choosing books, look at learning style....are they visual, tactile, auditory? Do they learn best through repetition or is doing similar work over and over going to burn them out? Even if you know where to buy them, look here to see websites and scan through types of curriculum

also, definitely scan through the books before purchasing to see if your child is on that level. You need to start where they are at or a little before to ensure that no steps are skipped in the process.

We're unschoolers, so we just skip the whole curriculum thing for now. My middle schooled son did request a book for algebra, and Saxon has a great online screening to see where your child is at mathematically. You can print it out and everything.

  3. Well, is this for you or your child? I suppose in any case, you should have an education plan of sorts, even a rough one, done up so that you know what is to be learned, approximate grade level, etc. Then you search for suitable texts. And know that most homeschoolers don't get all of their books from one place.
