  1. I am almost fourteen as well and wondering the same thing.  I have heard of a really interesting online college that I would like entering once I am done with high-school, here is the link: http://www.scitraining.com/  I hope this helps!

  2. Any college of your choice, just score well on the SAT and ACT, or pass the college placement exam that some college require over and above the SAT, and ACT.

  3. Most any college!  They want homeschoolers, they are achievers!  Do work on your spelling though sweetie.

  4. Well....I heard that most kids from homeschooling are 10 times smarter than the average people in public schools. You can chose to go to any colleges that you would like.

    Good Luck,

  5. I'm pretty sure any college you apply to! as long as you have a G.P.A. and that you have your SAT/ACT scores.

  6. Well, it's good that you are thinking about that now instead of later.  You can attend any college you can meet the admission standards for.  I am not aware of any college that boycotts students who are not from specific high-schools, so you will have to make yourself a valuable resource.  The best thing you can do right now is prepare yourself to do well on the ACT/SAT as that will be a major determining factor.  If you are applying to more competitive institutions you will need to work on creating a really strong application letter.  This sounds dumb, but students who cannot write are an epidemic problem in Universities, so if you can prove you are a strong writer you will give yourself a huge leg up since writing papers is a major part of almost any program.  Secondly, you will need to focus a lot of attention on higher math.  That is another area where recruiters are finding issues.  Our home school group found no trouble with admissions anywhere, but we focused on these three things.

Be ready for the SAT (take practice exams at least 1 time a year)

Be able to write strong compositions.  (The more quality literature you read the easier this will be, but do classics, not mysteries and romance novels)

Be strong in mathematics.  (at 14 you are probably already past basic stuff, so focus on trig, geometry, calculus and physics)

If there are specific schools you are interested in you can always send an e-mail to their admissions department and see what advice they can give you for THEIR school.  Good luck

  7. Which ever ones your test scores qualify you for,it doesnt matter that you are homeschooled.

  8. You can get into any college. Most colleges don't care what  you did in High School except that you graduated. They also want good ACT scores (every college I've gone to could care less about SAT). You may have some challenges getting into "e-gad" ones like Havard or Yale, but why spend obscene amounts of money to go there? Employers will just be as impressed that you received your degree.

  9. You can enter any college your grades and test scores qualify for, the same as if you were in public or private school.  Universities all over the country are actively seeking out homeschoolers, and even Ivy League colleges accept homeschool grads each year.

Make sure that your transcript is up to date (you and your mom should be keeping records of all of your coursework, time spent, and grades).  This will be key for college apps.

Also, figure out some colleges now that you would like to apply for in a few years, and get ahold of their catalogs.  Look through and see what the course and GPA requirements are, how they approach AP classes, and what academic and sports scholarships they have - and then plan for them.  Start prepping and pretesting for the SAT/ACT now (your score won't be sent anywhere until you ask it to) so that you're prepared during your junior year.  If you have any questions on that particular college, go ahead and call an admissions officer to see what their advice is - they'll be happy to help you.

I haven't found a college or university yet (in the US) that won't accept homeschoolers, and the admissions reps I've spoken to at hs conventions are eager to have homeschool kids apply.

    Hope that helps!
