Homesick Roommate! =(?

So move in day was today and I finally met my roommate I love her and I can tell she's great but she seems really down...she told me she was homesick...and I want to know how to help...

How do I comfort her? How can I make it easier? Just any advice on what to do....

Start bonding and take her out. Make some sweet memories, things that you both can look back on some day. Just having fun.

Take her out and do things with her, anything to keep her mind off home.  Shoot pool, play ping pong, go to the movie, go on a fountain run (run through fountains on campus, kinda like playing in a sprinkler).  Anything to keep her engaged helps.

You sound really sweet and thoughtful. just being there will be a great comfort. See if she wants to get out and have some fun and try to get her mind off of home. But don't feel bad if it doesn't work. She will adjust in time.
