  1. well, i dont know if its legal to come out of school into homeschool, cause im 13 and live in washington too lol. but if you can, do it!!!! just know that some people might tick you off while your there. just tell them not to mess with you and theyll back off! and never ever listen to the peolple that ask you about socialization. i've been homeschooled my whole life, and i have a friend, that was shy and quiet, and didnt have any friends. she went to public school. but when i met her, and hung out with her, she became this social expert!!!!

and i have a cousin that had to break up with her boyfriend, but she didnt want to make hom cry. so i logged on to her myspace and broke up with him, cause she didnt know what to say. he too it just fine.

  2. Very tough

You have to file notice withint 2 weeks of the new semester starting date or by September 15th, whichever is the sooner.

The person doing the teaching must be either the parent who has:

1). 1 year of college level courses (30 credit hours)

    or

2). Taken an approved course in Home Schooling from a vocational school or college

    or

3). Is approved by the school district

    OR

Anyone (parent or otherwise) who holds a Washington Teaching Credential

    OR

The student receives an evluation ONCE a week by a Certified Washington State School Teacher

A parent without the training can do it, provided they bring in a "teacher" once a week, every week, during the course of the school years which must be 180 days or 1000 hours

WIthin two weeks of the start of any school quarter you can file a notice of intent. Since winter break just ended we can assume that you still have time. Your mom will have to fill that out, and I assume at the same time register to be considered eligible for homeschooling.

Find a local support group, of course it's legal. Would we be posting online if it wasn't?

  4. Earl D. was very close, but a little off.  I homeschool my kids in Washington and the requirement for college credits is 45 college credits, not 30.  I had the credits needed so I didn't have to do anything special.  If your parents don't have that many credits, then the qualifying course is an easier option, and can now be done on-line through many community colleges.

I recommend you contact the Washington Homeschool Organization for more information:

If your parents really don't want to homeschool independently, they could look into Washington Virtual Academy.  I am not a fan of it, but it is Public School at home.
