do you ever just feel so behind in all your homework to the fact that you feel like just giving up on the whole thing? I lack motivation and i need help ! My will power is very poor. Yesterday i spent an hour organizing my to do list for homework and guess what ... In the end i only completed one task. I am like 4 chapters behind in biology, 2 chapters behind in maths and the other subjects i don't even bother to do homework in. I am so angry with myself, everytime i try to start homework i get sleepy and end up sleeping. I have 10 hours sleep each day. I have exams coming up and with only a month i find it impossible to memorize and understand all 4 bio chapters and compleete my 2 maths exercise plus catch up with all my other subjects. Help please ... cheers

  1. Even if you don't feel like it, do some exercise. Walk around. Do it every day before work and after. Tell yourself not to sleep. If your will power is poor, then lock the door of your bedroom and stay away or stuff piles of books etc. on your bed so you can't sleep on it, enough that you cannot be bothered to take it off.

Start with your best subjects, or the ones you are least behind in and do okay with. Salvage what you can at the moment; you can still pass some, if not all subjects. To do lists shouldn't take a long time. Get a basic outline and just get started. After all, if you finish, you can always add more to your list.

Also, with homework, try get interested. Submerge yourself. If you really can't, research and just rephrase facts you find. It won't be amazing but you'll get by. Right now, if getting the most basic stuff is enough to finish your homework, leave it at that. No more. Hit the books (start studying) as soon as you can. Just read the info. again and again. Try to actively memorise. Even if you don't, the repetitive reading will leave some info. in your head.

Try not to get angry at yourself. While this may provide momentary motivation, it doesn't last. Just tell yourself, it's time to start again. Bounce back. You can get by. Go outside for a bit again. Drink some water. Try not to snack to much. And go back to your work. Make sure you take breaks or your attention span will drift. Amusing yourself in other activities/distractions (like games) may result in not returning to your work. Do your homework first. Keep telling yourself, you'll be rewarded. If you finish this portion, you can go outside and stretch your legs. If you finish all the day's work, you can play games etc. Get little tasks done first. Then make your workload a little bigger each day.

Lastly, talk to someone. Get them to call you each day or come over a while to bug you to get some work done. Or set a study date with a friend. Don't try 'snap out' of this. Take it slowly. Make sure you eat well and take time outside each day. Good luck to you. i can empathise with your situation. <3

  2. Take a break every 15 minutes that you study, but don't go to sleep. Take a walk or get a drink from the kitchen. Study in a place where you can focus and not be tempted to think about other things or sleep.

  3. as ur exam is on the way, so get a copy from ur fren who completes all the task of all the subject and photocopy it and read it. But plz remember that next time u will do it by urself without taking help of ur fren.

  4. Just Relax

I Tend To Feel The Same Way When it Comes To School Work

    And I'll Feel Overwhelmed.

Just Take Time To Clear Your Head Then Start DOing Your Work again

  5. i understand what you are going through. i went through the same stage my senior year in high school. prior to that i had been up to date on everything. i lost motivation and once i fell so far behind it was even harder to muster the desire to do anything. i decided that i should cut my loss by giving up on catching up.  Accept a failing grade if you have to on the chapters you are behind on try to work on the chapter you are currently on. if you try catching up, you will only fall further behind.

  6. I have the same problem.

here's my advice-- chug a monster/some coffee/ or anything caffeinated to keep you awake. also, try to start your homework as early as possible, so that way, you won't be as tired.

don't go on the internet/open your computer for ANYTHING, unless you absoloutely have to (as in, emailing a teacher, typing a paper, anything that is not homework related is off limits.)

start on the hard stuff first- the big assignments, like the four bio chapters. try reading a chapter, taking notes/making flashcards for one hour. then, take a 20 minute break to get a snack, go online, whatever you want. then, after that time, get right back to work, and finish your biology, taking 20 minute breaks...

do this with all of your work. be sure to carry your flashcards for bio, or your math review with you in your free time, so if you have a moment where you are waiting for something, or are bored, you can get at least a bit of work done.

it's just about knowing how to manage your time and your workload.

doing a little each day can give you so much more time in the long run, and a LOT less stress.

    good luck!
