9. Our parents asked us to meet the stranger in the kitchen to talk to him.

10. On the stage the actors whispered to each other and glanced into the auditorium.

Correct any errors in the use of adjectives and adverbs (or in the use of then and than) in the following sentences.

12. My sister's young son is more smart then his older brother.

13. The dog next door howls loud every night, louder then the dog across the street.

14. It was these worse dinner of my life because you treated the waiter so rude.

  1. Adjectives are words to decribe someone or something e.g. The old president or The grumpy president

    Adverbs describe how the verb [doing word] is done e.g. limped slowly or spoke loudly Adverbs tend to end in 'ly' but not always.

    These are some adjectives you could use for questions 7 - 10:

    old president, thoughtful president, courageous people, drunk students, summer holiday, strict parents, disheveled stranger, talented actors.

    These are some adversb you could use for questions 7 - 10:

    limped slowly, spoke clearly, greatly disappointed, talk nicely, whispered quiety, glanced quickly

    Once you get the idea try and use some of your own ideas.

    Questions 12 - 15 just need reading carefully and remember that adverbs usually end in 'ly'

    12 ... son is smarter than ...

    13 ...howls loudly ...

    14 ...was the worst ... rudely

    15 ... of these ...
