Hi, I just started school again yesterday. I'm in 8th grade and am in Algebra 1 Honors this year. I have one question on a problem in my homework (we're working on Variables and Expressions), so if you could help me figure out how to find the answer, that would be wonderful =) The problem is;

The difference between high and low tides along the Maine coast in November is 19 feet on Monday and X feet of Tuesday. Write an expression to show the average rise and fall of the tide for Monday and Tuesday.

It sounds pretty easy but I guess I'm just having a brain f**t. Thanks for any help =)

  1. You average two things by adding them and dividing by 2.  So,

    (19 + x)/2
