Uncle Ambrose appears at your house intent upon drinking 50% less spiked eggnog than last year at Christmas. If he drank 8 glasses last year, how much SHOULD he drink this year?

when you come across problems like these its easy to take 50% and convert that into a decimal so to do that you move the decimal place twice to the left..... So if its 50 then you should end up with .5 or if its 5.0 then you should end up with .05.. once you you done that you take your decimal which is .5 and times it by 8. If your good with fractions and decimals you will relize that .5 is 1/2 and 1/2 of 8 is 4

ok so a whole pergentage is 100%, and half of 100 % is 50%

(50 X 2 =100 )

so he is going to drink HALF as many glasses

and half of 8 is 4

so Uncle Ambrose will drink 4 glasses this year
