  1. thats not a homework question

  2. Focus on the product or service you sell.  Build excellent relationships with potential customers. Know what your customer want and need and believe me they will keep on coming back on your store.

  3. * Window display.. popular titles and/or sales should be in prominent view for walk-by traffic to gauge their interest.

    * Once inside the store, you should have your books organised in a way which would make is easy for customers to find what they are after (arranged into subject catagories or alphabetised, depending on the types of books you are selling).

    * Wide isles and bright colors will make the store more inviting and easier to navigate.

  4. Know your customers.  Are you selling to a young audience or an old audience (ie. school books or Bea Arthur Bio's)?  Then design your site pertaining to that.  If you are focusing on young people, make the site look cutting edge with small fonts.  For the older people, more regal and larger fonts.

Focus on getting your customers in the site and make it easy to navigate.  Make splash pages to help them navigate.  The easier the better, I hate sites that have so many products you are overwhelmed.  Make sure you have easy to see categories (ie. School Books, History, Gardening, etc) so what they see is what they get.  How frusturating is it when you go to a site and find a bass guitar in the drum section.  I know it sounds simple, but think about it, it is simple.

Make sure you have good unique descriptions for every page with meta tags for a good title and description.  I don't use keywords anymore, because actually some search engines will penalize you for not having those words within the page content, maybe doing more good than harm.

I would do a lot of social bookmarking of your site, make a Facebook and Myspace page, etc, get your name out there.

The only and Golden Rule of web design and marketing - "Make all your materials (pictures and text) to as if you are helping the customer 100%"  Google and well Yahoo is so smart these days it know, they always know.

    Hope this helps, good luck.
