Are cooling and solidification really the exact same physical process? Why?

  1. Cooling a gas turn into a liquid. Solification mean it turn into a solid. Water is a good example.


  2. C & S are 2 completely different things.

    C = Reducing the temperature of something.

    S = A phase change of matter to a solid state from some other (eg, liquid or gaseous) state.

    Solidification frequently happens when something is cooled, but other than that relationship, they have nothing in common.
