  1. it doesn't have an equal sign.

55-12n (55 dollars which u have minus 12 dollars times each disc you buy)

i think this would be a way you could write one.

  2. write a formula.... to solve how much money you will have after buying a certain number of disks

you start with your whole amount or start value (55)

    subtract how much you spend

if each dvd is 12 and you buy n dvds you spent 12n (because you would multiply 12 by the number of dvds you got... ex you buy 3 dvd you spend 12x3 or 36$)

Your formula or expression would be

your start value minus the 12n

    55-12n=money left

    understand any better?

  3. Ok you would have enough money to get 4 dvds. You would have 7 dollars left over.  That's the answer.

  4. You have enough money to buy 4 DVDs.  After spending $48 to buy 4 DVDs ($12 each x 4), you would have $7 left.

The "expression" is 7/12 - meaning you have $7 but you need $12 to buy the next DVD.

    Hope this helps!
