Honda CB 600 Battery Problem?

I have a cb600 and has problem with batttery charging system. The battery dies in couple of days and bike seems to be stalling(no smooth ignition). I checked the vltg across the battery at 5000rpm and it shows around 12.4V and it keeps droping until 11.8 to 12V. can you please suggest what could be the problem.

Just had the same problem, stator is shorting out stator field. Take stator cover off with field, rotate stator and make sure that it is running true. In my case the stator was running a 1/4 of a mill out of true, and gave me greave. Hope this helps
