Honda Gresini rider Alvaro Bautista hopeful about good results at Indianapolis – MotoGP news
San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Alvaro Bautista is looking forward towards the upcoming Indianapolis Grand Prix.
He is hopeful that they will be able to perform better than they did in past.
Bautista said that the Grand Prix at Laguna Seca he was not able to produce expected results because he was struggling with the soft tyres. He added that he was facing lack of confidence with the tyres.
Telling about the summer break the Spanish rider said that it took a few days to recover from the stress of the previous unlucky month. Furthermore, he said that during the break he did his training and spent time relaxing and now he ready for the race in
America again.
He added that he always had good results in Indianapolis if his bike suits the circuit. Moreover, he said that he will try that the performance of the last year does not repeat and they produce good impressive results in the current season.
The Spaniard said, “Laguna Seca did not produce the result we were hoping for because I struggled for confidence with the soft front tyre there. After that disappointment I took a few days to relax by the seaside but I have kept up to my training programme
and I am ready to race again in America. I have always had good results at Indianapolis and the track should suit the characteristics of our bike. We will try and test the tyres properly during practice to make sure that we don't have a repeat of the last
race.”
Furthermore, he said that Indianapolis is a different circuit because of its long straight and anti-clockwise direction of race.
Moreover, he said that last year he was facing problems with the front tyre of his bike. He expects that they will not face same problems this year and told that they will test the tyres well enough in the practice session.
Bautista currently holds 9th position in the championship with 81 points. In the last 2011 season, he was able to finish the race at 6th position riding for Rizla Suzuki MotoGP.
