Honda Gresini rider Michele Pirro will try not to repeat history at Indianapolis – MotoGP news
Michele Pirro of San Carlo Honda Gresini expects that he will not repeat the history of past three races and will be able to make it to the finish line at Indianapolis Grand Prix scheduled to be held this weekend.
He said that the Grand Prix at Laguna Seca was their third race in a row in which they could not finish. He added that in the last race, he crashed with another rider in the very first corner of the race.
Furthermore, he said that it feels shameful that he was unable to finish the race because he liked the circuit and believes that July was an unlucky month for him.
Moreover, he said that he wants to stay positive about the race so that he may focus on the problems that may arise in the remainder of the season.
Pirro said that they have been improving over the tracks and are getting closer to the top CRTs. He added that to improve physical fitness he tried to maintain balance during the summer break.
Furthermore, he said that he wants to make it to the position they achieved at Assen. He is confident that he will be able to make it.
He said, “Laguna Seca was our third non-finish in a row, this time because of a collision with another rider in the first corner. It's a shame because I really liked the circuit and was enjoying riding there. July wasn't a lucky month for me but together
with the team I want to stay positive and focus on overcoming our problems in the best possible way. We have been getting more competitive and our pace is getting closer to the top Claiming Rule Teams (CRTs) so we want to continue that for the remainder of
the season.”
At Assen, he was able to make it on the 9th position by finishing with a gap time of 1 minute and 6.980 seconds. In the Deutschland Grand Prix, he could not make it to the finish line and remained unclassified. He was excluded from the race Italian Grand
Prix at Mugello. He was not classified at the Laguna Seca.
Currently he holds 14th place in the championship with 16 points, leading Mattia Pasini who has 13 points.
A few days are left in the upcoming Indianapolis GP. Let’s see will he be able to make it to the finish line or not.
