Honda Nighthawk 750 starter removal?

I am having trouble removing the starter from my bike. The starter seperates into three pieces. I can remove the two pieces closest to the outside of the bike, but I can not remove the front plate cover to get to the pinion gear which connects to the motor to turn it over. i have removed the two visible bolts which connect the starter to the motor and have tried to remove the two bolts which hold the starter part together, but nothing that I do can remove the front plate cover. Is there three bolts that hold the starter to the motor? Anyone had this problem before?

You took the starter apart before removing it.

And when you do get it out, don't lose the two small planetary gears that circle the main pinion, or you ain't goin' nowheres.
