Question:

Honda Rebel 250 v. Hyosung GV250?

Which is better for me?

I am a young woman novice rider with a budget around 4500.

I am torn between these two bikes. I know the Hyosung is a bit faster, more powerful, etc... but man the Rebel is priced so nice it fits so well in my budget (with dough to spare!). However I guess I'd be willing to go over budget if the GV250 was really the best choice.

The Rebel is like 3300 (3500 ish w tax) in my area, while the GV250 is going for 3900 (4150 total). Plus I still need to get my gear (total around 400).

As I mentioned in my 'want opinions about Honda rebel 250' question... I still would like to have a custom paint job. Obviously either way I'd wait a few months to make sure the bike was working out, plus if I get the Hyosung I'd have to wait that long anyway probably to put enough spare change away to have it done.

So.... more opinions please!

Thanks!

  1. the Honda will have much better resale value, the Hyosung simply hasn't been around long enough.  Honda parts are available everywhere, good luck with the Hyosung.  Buy the Honda.

  2. I would buy the Honda and I highly not recommend buying a new bike but a used bike for your first bike because you will probably scratch it or it may fall over or you might lay it down while riding it and after riding a 250 for a yr or so you will probably want to jump up to a much bigger bike after you are experienced so buying used saves you money. My suggestion for your next bike would be a Ducati Monster and these are great bikes for small framed riders.

  3. best bike for you is

    Vespa ET2

    trust me.

  4. Go for the Rebel or look at the V Star 250. Forget the sport bike thing until you have some experience under your belt. Cruiser style bikes look good and are comfortable. They don't make you want to act crazy while learning and you're more likely to get by a cop making a mistake (which you will certainly do at some time or another).

  5. 1 The GV is not a sport bike 2 it is a much better motorcycle than a rebel just by its engine being water cooled.3 Hyosung has been making motor cycles since the 60's. They use to make engines for Suzuki. I have never had much fixing to do on them . Honda are not what  everyone says they are. They were once but now they live on their name. 4 I have ridden both and the GV is  much more comfortable to ride.  The GV should have a better warranty
