Honda rider Casey Stoner says they still need to fix chatter issues – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda Team rider Casey Stoner has said that they still need to fix the issues of chatter due to which his victory in 2012 Portugal Grand Prix was at risk.
Stoner took an impressive victory in the last race held at Estoril Circuit in Portugal. However, he said that he faced chatter problems during the race due to which Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha got a chance to reduce the gap.
In the first race held at Losail Circuit in Qatar, the Australian rider could only secure third podium finish. Nevertheless, he was able to secure his first win in the second race at Jerez Circuit in Spain and managed to keep up the same level of performance
in the third race.
Furthermore, he said that they had targeted to make the essential evaluations about the updates in the bike in the post-race test in Estoril but could not be able to do so as it was cancelled due to rain. Nonetheless, he said that they are hoping for dry
weather conditions at Le Mans so as to solve the issues which they faced in the last race.
“It was disappointing that the weather in Estoril on Monday prevented us from testing,” Stoner said. “We need to work on the chatter issue we have on the bike so let's hope we have some dry sessions from day one in Le Mans so we can get out on track and
work on it.”
Nevertheless, he said that he is confidently looking forward for the forthcoming race after claiming victories in the last two grands prix.
He added, “I've had some mixed results there in the past, the track layout is unique, it's a little stop-start with a lot of braking and I think this year both the Hondas and Yamahas will be competitive there.”
On the other hand, his teammate, Dani Pedrosa said that he is feeling hopeful for the next race while he said that he needs to keep on improving his pace in the upcoming races.
Over and above, Honda are trying their best to make the substantial developments and the necessary preparations so as to enhance the pace of their bike for the approaching races in order to win the championship title.
