Honda riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa predict Valentino Rossi’s 2013 run – MotoGP news
Valentino Rossi’s Honda rivals Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa claim that 2013 will be a better season for Rossi following his move back from Ducati to Yamaha after two years.
After a disappointing run with Ducati for two consecutive years, Rossi will again find MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo as his Yamaha Factory Racing teammate in 2013.
Rossi has failed to win even a single MotoGP round since 2010 Malaysian Grand Prix. Keeping that fact aside, most MotoGP experts and riders including Marquez believe that Rossi will get back
on the podium in the upcoming MotoGP season.
“Valentino is Valentino and you can never rule him out. I think he will be up there on the podium and winning races,” Marquez said on Thursday during the unveiling ceremony of the new Honda
bike.
When asked about the title favourites, Marquez name Lorenzo and his teammate Pedrosa but did not forget to mention that both Lorenzo and Pedrosa will get a tough time on the track from Rossi.
“To win the championship, Jorge and Dani are there in great shape. They are both in the best moment of their careers, but I think Valentino will be making things difficult for them,” Marquez
said.
The runner up in 2012 season, Pedrosa, was more conservative than his teammate when asked about Rossi. He rated Rossi as a highly talented MotoGP rider but did not make a prediction about
Rossi’s run in 2013.
“I guess a lot of fans are happy that he's back to Yamaha, hoping that he's fast again. As for talent, there are no doubts, but we have to see if he rides flat out again or not,” Pedrosa
said.
Before his move back to Yamaha, Rossi faced a lot of criticism from his critiques. So it is imperative for the 33-year-old Italian rider to get back in the winning streak in the 2013 MotoGP
season for it has been nearly three years since he has won a Grand Prix round. MotoGP fans will love to see the 7 times MotoGP champion back in the riding form in which he once used to be.
