  1. YES! Finally a person who prefers a manual!!!! God Bless YOU! Civic yes, prius no.

  2. If you want a manual-transmission Honda Civic Hybrid, you'll have to get a used one, model years 2003-2005.  Since the 2006 model year, the Honda Civic Hybrid has only been available with a CVT.  (The 2000-2006 Honda Insight (Honda's first hybrid) always had a manual transmission available.)

The Toyota Prius is only available with an eCVT.

You can always go to http://www.fueleconomy.gov/f*g/bymake/by... and see all vehicles by a particular manufacturer for a given year, and their fuel economy.  The manual vs. automatic vs. CVT transmissions are usually listed there.

For 2008, the following Honda vehicles had a manual transmission:  Accord, Accord Coupe, Civic, Element, Fit, S2000

For 2008, the following Toyota vehicles had a manual transmission:  Camry, Camry Solara, Corolla, FJ Cruiser 4WD, Matrix, Tacoma, Yaris, tC, xB, xD

  3. A regular (non hybrid) Civic is available with a stick. Hybrid Civics and Priuses have CVT's only (as do most hybrids).

You can get an Accord, Fit, Yaris, Corolla/Matrix, or Camry with a stick, as well as any Scion (which is Toyota too)
