Hondo Willy to dominate the Kelly Waffles ‘Barking Mad’ Hound Chase at Romford on 6th April
The Grade A1 Kelly Waffles ‘Barking Mad’ Hound Chase is to get hosted by Romford over 400 metres on Friday, 6th April. Taking part in the race tonight are Highview Dilemma, Hondo Willy, Romeo Colarado, Four Wheeler, Droopys Cruyff and Lughill
Simon.
Among those contesting tonight, Hondo Willy, Hondo Black’s four-year-old black son out of b***h Ballyneale Sky, progressed drastically after missing out the first two starts of the season.
He finished fourth and then fifth in the initial races.
His seasonal debut victory came on 28th February at Romford over 400 metres. Hondo Willy was able to capture the race by completing the trip in 24.43 seconds while leading by a slight neck’s margin.
Affane Master qualified as the runner up of the race.
Right after the victory, Hondo Willy was drilled over 400 metres at Romford, a distance that he went through in 24.61 seconds. This was meant to bring stability in the performance that he had given recently.
Failing the purpose, Hondo Willy missed the next start that he took part in. he was deprived victory by a mere margin of a length by which the winner, Isit Possible, led in the Grade A1 400 metres flat on 17th March at Romford. The winner cleared
the distance in 24.31 seconds.
The runner up, Hondo Willy, raced through the track in 24.39 seconds while the 2/1 favourite, Lisloose David, ended the race fifth in line behind the winner.
Hondo Willy swung back into form on 24th March in the Grade A1 400 metres flat race which he won by clocking the track distance in 24.44 seconds and leading by a mere ¾ of a length.
He shoved the 11/4 favourite of the race, Newinn Phanter, into the runner up’s slot after he took 24.50 seconds to conclude the race. Taking up the third slot was Sable Blue.
An entry to look out for is Droopys Cruyff as he is coming right out of a victory and two training sessions which makes him a potential threat for Hondo Willy. This will be the sixth start for Hondo Willy and a chance to bag the third victory of the new
season.
