*Honest Opinion* Do I Draw Well?

Question

I have drawn a couple of sketches, and I asked my family what they think of them, and of course they're going to say it looks good. But I want YOUR honest opinion of what you think of them, here is the link to my Deviant Art where I have all of them uploaded.

You said honest opinion....Well I think it's so awesome to find someone my age here that actually draws! I've had a lot of experience with drawing and I've met wonderful artist before and I'll share their tips with you. NOTE: I like to draw anime/manga and have been drawing ever since I was 2 years so no pressure, I had a headstart. I saw that you don't outline or trace out your drawings lightly before drawing, and that's a problem. Before I thought it would take up more of my time and I always drew in pen; but now I realize how much it helps to outline and draw in pencil. You could look over tutorials and stuff because it would really help. My rating for you is okay. I guess....I don't really know about drawings like yours because I don't know if that's really how everyone draws at this age. Anyways, you'll need more practice for sure but you draw a lot better than everyone in my 7th grade class. ^_^

Keep drawing, and watch out for an adding on Youtube! :)

Well it depends on your age. I could do that in second grade but I grew up to be an artist. Id say if your under 10, yes. If older, keep drawing everyday and youll go places.

your profile says you are 11. (and i think some may look at that before laughing on here) You are exceptional for your age. Your proportions are very good. Just make sure you practice, practice, practice!!! EVERYDAY draw something new and you will watch yourself continue to grow into a very wonderful artist.

For being so young, I'd say you're off to a good start. Try to take some art classes in high school and keep practicing! :)

I would honestly say you draw better than half the people in your age group.  Two of the portraits of people you have on the website are your best drawings, in my opinion, because they show that you have the beginnings of an understanding of line variation.  This line variation is a very powerful tool in drawing and not everyone has a feel for how to do it.  If drawing is something you're very interested in, you should continue to practice it often.  You seem to be interested in drawing animals and people.  A great way to get good at drawing those subjects is to start out drawing horses.  They're great subjects and they keep moving just enough to force you to draw fast which is a skill anyone needs to get to the top levels of most art related drawing.

You can look at some cartoon characters and copy them pretty well, I will say that about your work up to this point. But drawing means more than just being a human copy machine. And drawing is something that you get better at from practicing an awl full lot. I am not a big fan of kids copying anime or manga because the style is so limiting. You have only showed the viewers a small amount of work. You need to get back to drawing and developing your own style, ideas, and characters.
