Honest Opinion- Do stitches hurt?

Question

I had a mole removed on my back and they need to take off some skin around it. My dermatologist said it should be like 1 stitch. Will it hurt?

OMG I HAD THE SAME THING!! i had a mole on my back and i got it removed last year! Luckily i got it removed otherwise it could have turned into cancer!!! Anywho, no it doesnt hurt. the doctors freeze your back so you dont feel a thing. well you might feel like a little touch but nothing really. and the stiches i didnt really notice them. I had 3 or 4 or 5 stiches and it didnt hurt! I had to wear this tape stuff for like soccer and other sports incase someone like elbowed me tho! but no stiches dont hurt really.

Of course not! Don't be worried, if it would hurt they would tell you. My lil' brother had to get 4 or 5 stitches. He said he got numb and he didn't feel a thing. So no worries, dear.

nah your good it one and you need it later they are made to heal and make you feel better not worst you will live pain free

No... I had sutures when I had my kid and even tho they disolved, they only felt uncomfortable but they were not painful.

I recently had two removed from my face. They numb the area before taking anything off and stitching you up. They will cover it up, and tell you how to take care of it. When you come back in to get the stitches removed, they sterilize the area, and then just cut the thread, and pull it out! There was no pain or discomfort on my end! You will be fine!

It shouldn't hurt although everyone is different and responds differently.  You will probably just feel a bit sore for a day or two.

Not to worry young lady  it will not hurt, if things are done right. The area will be numbed and you shouldn't feel a thing. One place that does hurt is the palm of the hand or a lip, no numbing helps that area. Good luck to you.

that won't hurt at all..

i had 20 STAPLES taken out of my elbow because they were holding the skin together and they took them out when i was awake. now THAT hurt.

  They gave me about 8 stitches on my arm and I didn't feel a thing, because they will numb your arm before they put in the stitch. They'll probably put in disolvable ones so they don't have to remove it in two weeks.

It depends on how u take pain. I had stitches one time & it hurt but I was like 5 years old. I'm very good with pain cause getting a tattoo hurts.
