Honestly, what are my chances at Cornell? Please help?

I'm a junior in high school, and until recently I never really dreamed of Ivy League. But I recently researched Cornell, and I REALLY want to go there. I have a 4.0 GPA, unweighted. I am not currently taking AP classes, because my only real option was AP US History, and history isn't an easy subject for me. I plan to take three AP classes next year: Statistics, Government, and Economics. So far in high school, I've taken honors whenever possible: biology, English all years, math all years, world history, and now US history. I am an active member of the Speech team, participate in theatre, and will be a member of National Honor Society. I am also an officer of the national group STAND, and plan to be an officer for NHS my senior year. Please tell me, honestly, what you think my chances at Cornell are.

  1. No one can give you a real answer without scores and class rank. If you're in the top 10% of your class and get at least a 2150 SAT and have decent ECs, you'll be a good candidate.

  2. Cornell is the 'easiest' of the ivies to enter, since its so big.

with your grades, (assuming you'll be consistent throughout high school) it shouldn't be a problem.  Make sure you get good scores on the SATs, SAT IIs, ACTs (if you want) and APs.

get your teachers to like you (not just by sucking up but by genuinely being interested in their class, ask questions etc)

and get leadership positions in the clubs you participate in

but the most important thing is to do things that you like because YOU like them, and not for college. Find something that you really enjoy and do it well, because that will show.

    good luck!

    i hope this helped :)
