Well first a little back story I have my in laws staying with me because my father in law just retired from the military and they want there daughter my sister in-law to finish high school.

Well today I was at my shop and my wife called saying her sister just took off not telling my wife where she was going. My sister in laws parents both work saving up money to move after this year of her schooling so they asked that my wife look after her since I work 2 jobs. So my wife called her on the cell phone and she didn't answer so she asked me to come home and find her. So I went and found her at one of her friend houses and knocked on the door and the parents of her friend opened the door and invited me in to get her so I went up stairs and walked in on them having s*x mind you she is only 15. So the boy jump at least 10 feet in the air and instantly started making excuses. When I looked over there was a bag of pot on the table and there was a bong as well. So I asked her about it she said yes I am smoking pot. So I asked her what else she was doing she said I have huffed and I will do what ever I want. So her current boyfriend wasn't the one having s*x with her but he came by looking for her and I pulled him off to the side and questioned him and he swore he never did any drugs and even offered to take a urine test at the hospital I work at. So I told him what I witnessed and he went in side and cursed her out and went back home. When I called her parents and told them they acted less then caring saying "what can we do to stop her?" , "how are we support to work and discipline her?" "We are trying to treat her like an adult".

Well honestly they didn't seem to care so I told her she is to get in her room and she will listen to what ever I say if she wants to stay in my house. Her mother my mother in law came home and talked to her and she got upset with me for threatening to kick her daughter out of my house. I explained I have a daughter of my own and I will not have her subjected to that type of actions.

I went back to work and then no more then 1 hour later my wife is calling saying her sister attacked her and tried to attack my daughter who is only 14 months old and that her sister left the house. Yet again I had to leave work to find her and when I found her she is sitting there with a cigarette in hand so I grab it and throw it on the ground and she tries to get physical with me so I bound her hands with my belt and put her in my truck and took her back home. What can I do to get her attention since her parents doing any thing? Can I report her parents to child protective services? Am I in the right in all my actions? What actions can I take against the boy she was with? Could I be held in trouble with the law for kicking her out of my house?

Honestly she wasn't always a bad kid it seems like this last 4 months she has gotten worse. I really don't want to kick her out but I also won’t put up with that in my house. Is there a way I can save her before she gets in deep trouble?

  1. Tell your wife unless she wants to be out on the street due to your loss of your job for running to do errands for her sleezy family, they must be out of YOUR house . In fact offer to reserve a room for them and pay for the first night or two. it will be totally worth it to get them out. then change the locks and dont answer the phone. Period. I could just feel my blood pressure rising as I read your tale. ( Grrr and then the parents are upset at YOU??????) outrageous.  You might want to call an attorney but I would tell the parents that you refuse to be liable for their duaghter and do not want your children exposed. If your wife does not agree with you you have even bigger problems . UGH

  2. Tell your father-in-law he was in the military and he knows how to install the rules and you suggest he install some strict *** rules on that kid of his.

  3. Once she got physical, I would have called the police.  Regardless of where she was taken, she would now be "in the system".

Yes I would call child protective services. They don't always remove children from the home, especially since she is not being physically abused.  Clearly your in-laws need parenting help.  Having them live with you is not a good idea.  It's hard to believe that a retired serviceman cannot support a small faimly on his own.

  4. Sorry...don't have time to read all that!
