Honey Moon Cruises???

My fiance and I are looking for a cruise for June I have never gone on a cruise before and I really don't know which ones are the best ones and I also dont want to get something very expensive, maybe something like 800 per person with balcony view for about 6-9 nights. I need a vacation! We both need it. Also it has to be leaving any ports of Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. Does anyone have any suggestions maybe? Which company is one of the best? I been searching all night online and couldn't really find something that interested me, I want it to have atleast more than 3 stops and have food included. If anyone can help me I would deeply appreciate it you know if we wait to book at the last minute the prices are sky scrappers. LOL.

  1. Typically cruises include more food than you should ever eat, so don't worry about that.  But their are plenty of other tempting opportunities to spend your money on; especially alcohol.  It can add up quick!  But overall cruises are an excellent value for your honeymoon buck.

I wouldn't even worry about a balcony view.  About any view to the outside is fine.  You won't spend that much time in the room, except for that "special" time.  There are just too many other nice places to be on the ship.  In the sun, at a show, in a lounge, participating in activities, just goofing off.

I've taken two cruises; one on "Holland America" which was supposedly more "upscale".  And another on Carnival which is supposed more budget oriented.  Honestly the differences were barely noticeable.  In fact, I would cruise Carnival anytime; but I have friends who swear by "Princess Cruises."

It's all good.  Go on some cruise chat forums, you can find them all over the net with reviews, etc.  Cruising is a blast; and is the ultimate vacation in my opinion. You can be very busy or very kick back and enjoy it just as much.

    Go Cruise!

  2. You should pay me for this answer. Save your money. You are

not going to do any thing with your fiance on a cruise that you

have not already done in the bed room. If he has not married you before the cruise then he is not going to marry you after

the cruise. That is all you two are ever going to be to each other is fiance.

  3. Well, $800 per person is a bit tight for what you want.  You could get a 7 night cruise in a balcony for about $1000 a person on Carnival, which is a very good cruise line with good prices in the Caribbean.

Summer is relatively expensive because that's when families are going on cruises, so they drive up prices.  During peak periods there aren't a lot of last-minute sales.

FYI, all major cruise lines will include food in their prices, and onboard entertainment.  But be aware of other costs: about $10 per person, per day for tips, sodas and alcohol, side trips when you get to shore, etc.  You definitely get more for your money than if you went on a land-based vacation (where you'd pay for all that and more), but be sure to plan your budget accordingly.

You might want to read up on this "Introduction to Cruises" which explains about what costs are included/excluded, what a typical day is like onboard, and answers other Frequently Asked Questions.

Oh, and if you live in Florida, be sure to check for Florida resident discounts.  And if you or your fiance served in the military, Carnival has discounts for that too.

    Hope this helps!

  4. I have been on 8 cruises with Princess. During the summer months I enjoyed going to Alaska the most, but since you want to leave from Florida, those cruises always go to the Caribbean or panama canal. I have been on both and I believe you will have a great time at whatever cruise you choose.Princess cruises are more upscale then Carnival, with better entertainment and food. So check out princess.com and see it their is anything there that interests you in June.

  5. i went on a cruise for my honey moon we left from cape canaveral.. 3 nights to bahamas it cost 750 for both of us for a ocean view. yeah the view was nice and our room was very roomy i thought..we didnt really spend that much time there. most of the time you spend outside on the deck ( where all the food is) im sure every cruise food is including except alcohol... summer months are more expensive than say fall or winter...just keep looking around youll find something.  also mine was a carnival fantasy ship and i thought it was really nice...you have to take into account your budget..carnival is the cheapest but if you want more higher class ships then it will cost you...maybe just start with a 4 or 5 night cruise...balcony would be nice if you could afford it..maybe you can go for 7 days with an inside cabin or 4 days with a balcony you have to decide what is more important. regardless of your room you still get that big ship to explore and have fun on..:)

  6. First of all you need to go to the cruise line web sites and look at what's available and at prices and itineraries.  Since you are interested in Ft Lauderdale and Miami only you should look at the web sites for those cruise ports:

    Miami:

    http://www.miamidade.gov/portofmiami/cru...

    Ft Lauderdale:

    http://www.porteverglades.org/index.php

Each of these web sites has a list of the cruise lines that use that port, links to each cruise line and a cruise calendar so that you can see for the year what cruises will be leaving from each and when.

I have been on about 20 cruises on 4 different cruise lines.  The top quality cruise lines That will be in your price range would be Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Holland America and Azamara.  A step down would be Norwegian and Carnival because NCL is now promoting informal cruising with its "freestyle" cruising; no dressing up.  And Carnival is the budget cruise line that most young people and first time cruiser go on; some love it and some do not.  Holland America is the line that most senior citizen go on but it has great ships, food and service.

The high end cruise lines would be Chrystal, Seaborn, Silverseas, and Radisson.  The ships are smaller, the service is great but prices start at about $4K per person for a 7 day cruise.

All of the cruise prices that you see will be per person based on double occupancy and will include, in addition to your cabin on board entertainment and free use of all facilities except the spa , all meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and free 24/7 room service.  So you do not have to worry about meals unless you want to go to a "specialty" restaurant on ship like a steak house, sushi, or Italian restaurant.  There is a fee for those but you will not be able to eat all of the free food that will be available.

If you want 3 or more port stops then you should do a Western Caribbean cruise which will usually have an itinerary that includes, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel or another Port in Mexico and a private cruise line island.  But there may be other itineraries that interest you that have 3 port stops.

The major problem that I see with your cruise criteria is the date that you have selected is very close.  Cruise lines give the best discounts and prices for early booking and that mean 9 to 12 months or more in advance.  They do not do last minute deals as so many people think. June is only 4 months away and thus the prices on most any cruise will be higher than it would be if you had booked last year.  However, all of the cruise lines do list links to their specials right on their home web pages.  Carnival and Royal Caribbean have the best web pages in my experience for finding specials.  So search these (the RC's link to specials is shown in red as "hot deals") to see if there are any that fit your planned time frame.

The other option you should consider to get within your price range is delaying your honeymoon and going when the price is the lowest for the cruise that you would like.  Identical cruise itineraries can vary by hundreds on different dates.  So shop for the best date and go then.
