Honey as root hormones?

I saw on the internet that it works but how long does it take and how much do i put? Does regular powder root hormones work better and faster?

  1. I don't know why honey would work.  Typical rooting hormones are indole-3-acetic acid, indole-3-butyric acid and naphthalene acetic acid. The actual hormones would work better than anything else.  Because honey is  concentrated sugars and sugars absorb water, you run the risk of the honey sucking the water out of the roots and killing them.

    I have asked people if using rooting hormone on a plant which already has roots would make more roots develop or not and everyone I've asked says no.  They just work to make roots develop on a cutting, for example.
